Second Chances

After the loss of Angely, I remember saying that I would never get another dog.

Those of us that have been through the loss of a pet, may have said the same, I even started to send more donations to organizations so that I could keep helping them since I wasn’t ready to adopt. In my case, it was a matter of letting time heal my heart. After one year and a half, I decided that I could let another dog in my life. How can I continue my life without a dog? How could I continue without giving a second chance of a new life to a dog that someone decided to leave? I got Angely because my father bought her for me when I was 14, but I wanted to adopt my next boston terrier.

Last April, I contacted BTB Rescue about one of their dogs whose story I was following, her name was Bowie, a five year old one eyed bostie, whose family had to move to the U.S, and for reasons that we don’t know, had to leave her behind. When you decide to adopt a dog, you are making a big compromise, you are adopting a new member of the family. After the process that you go through to adopt and the interviews, I got the ok! I was so excited meet her!

She arrived on May 9, 2019 and it was official on June 17, 2019. The three words that I use to describe her is curious, energetic, and sooooo loving! My friend, Eve, from Holy Doggie says that dogs come into our lives to teach us. I agree with that. Bowie has come to my life to challenge me to become a better version of myself. I promised to give her the best life that I can give her and all the love, just like I did with Angely.

Tell me about your four-paw baby!
